Jag surfar just nu på en enorm våg av inspiration. Det är ganska överväldigande samtidigt som det är oerhört roligt att känna hur energin flödar och idéerna blixtrar förbi som fyrverkerier. Ena stunden är jag övertygad om att jag vill jobba för ett globalt storföretag för att i nästa börja planera för att starta eget. Jag har funderat på att skriva en barnbok med illustrationer och jag har funderat på att ta bilen ner till Europa för att pröva mina vingar i ett nytt land. Jag har idéer för iPad-appar och jag har idéer för föreläsningar. I ärlighetens namn är det fullkomligt kaos i mitt huvud och jag vet varken ut eller in. Så jag skriver. Jag skriver ner mina tankar och hoppas på att något snart kommer att utkristalliseras.
Det jag går igenom just nu kan enklast beskrivas som en dörr som sakta börjar stängas igen för mig medan alla andra står på vid gavel. Jag har under en lång tid varit övertygad om att jag skulle återvända till mitt jobb i San Francisco men jag börjar sakteligen inse att mina chanser krymper för var dag som går. Efter en del självrannsakan har jag upptäckt att möjligheterna är oändliga, det gäller bara att bestämma sig för vilken dörr man ska kliva in i härnäst. Så jag tar ett djup andetag, och jag skriver.
I’m riding a huge wave of inspiration. It’s overwhelming at the same time as it’s amazing to feel the flow and watch the ideas come flashing by. One moment I’m convinced I want to work for a global enterprise, the next I’m making plans for my own business. I’ve thought about writing a children’s book with illustrations and I’ve been inspired to spread my wings and try a new country in Europe. I’ve had ideas for iPad apps and I’ve had ideas for educational seminars. To be honest my mind’s currently a complete mess. So I write. I write down my thought with the hope that something will stand out.
The best way to explain all of this is that one door is closing while all others are wide open. I’ve been convinced that I’ll return to my job in San Francisco for so long but I’m beginning to realize that my chances are dim. After a lot of soul searching I’ve discovered the opportunities to be vast and all I need to do is to choose the next door. So I take deep breath, and I write.
